PITBULL LOVE

PITBULLS              MAY 29, 2015

Pepper Rose a Blue Pit bull.

Lulu bell an American bull dog also know as a Red in the bully language

I really want to know where pit bulls got such bad raps? I know in the late 1800's the pit bull was considered the "Nanny dog" because they were given the job to watch children and they would protect them with their life. Many men would take this breed with them on hunting trips not only for their ability to hunt but their ability to protect and be loyal. Pit bulls have gotten such a bad rap over the years I would really like to know how this started and how we can smash it.

Some of the reasons this breed of dog is feared is because of their body structure, and face. They are big, no way around it bullies are just a big dog. The biggest recorded as of today is HULK.  weighting in at about 175pounds. So I can see why people would be scared.

Next would be the fighting people say that because it is this breed the dog can lock its jaw and have a successful kill. Beside dog fighting being inhumane the truth is it is not the breed it is the dog that can or can not lock its jaw. Many vets will argue this but if the dogs are bread to be big, muscular and have jaws that lock then yes it will soon become the breed not just the individual dog.  But many dog are big and scary. Even the little one are scary, especially Chihuahua's.

From personal experience I have had many kinds of dog and the bull so far is the best. When I was about the age of 12 I went over to a friends and the dog I had met many time before bit me  in the face and on my hand. I have been scared of dog ever since. I actually came to hate dogs all breeds didn't matter if trained or not I was scared. Then about two years ago a good friend was unable to care for their dog anymore because of work and they asked me to care for it so a bit till they could make a permenate home for the dog. I agreed and am happy with the decision. My daughters love her and I have never seen a dog so calm and loving.

From this point I have taken in one more pit bull a blue. She was not a bait dog but because she was the runt of the litter the mother rejected her and we were able to take her in and nurse her to health. Even as a puppy all she ever wanted to do was snuggle, love and be loved. Yes these dog will chew up everything so be prepared when they are growing and teething to have everything tore up. But with the right amount to patience, and training these dogs can be the most protective, loving, and loyal dogs.

So for these people out there who are bad mouthing pit bulls in general take note I was once scared of all dogs and I now own two of the most loving and loyal dogs I could ever have. But please also know many of the dogs that are scary for good reason are because of the owners and how they treat them so always be cautious but don't blame it on a kind of breed that's not right.

  1. Being someone that's never really taken care of dogs of any kind in my life, have only seen things from my friends' point of views, and whatever the TV spits at me; You and I have the same idea that the Pit has a bad rep strictly from the owners of the dogs.

  2. Those doggies are HUGE... but they are nice when they are taught to be nice. in nature i assume all dogs are trusting and happy. But when you treat it bad its no wonder they are meanies!! I mean come on what would you do be nice to someone who hits you or kicks you? I think not. I know i sure as hell wont let someone touch me or my kiddo. There would definitely be some hell to pay!! But idk im a aminal person anyways they all like me for the most part. Its just crazy to think that everyone looks down on them for the ways that they have been taught...

  3. some of these dogs are just soooo so cute, but if I saw that 175 pound beast in front of me I would just stay frozen in place and wouldn't know what to do at all. as if I were to have seen a freakin lion and shit, I would probably turn to stone. but it all depsends on how you raise your pit bull. people have given them bad rap because if you just see one down the street walking on its own and you see it walking towards you, since they're such energetic dogs they just scare the "poop" out of anyone thinking he might attack or what ever. but of course with proper training and things like that you can have that 175 pound it bull in your home and be perfect with anyone that he meets. nice job in your blog by the way :D
